Gotta Groove is comprised six mature, professional and experienced musicians, who pride themselves in providing a wide variety of music to please most everyone for any occasion, whether it is a private party, wedding, concert or outdoor festival event. Whatever the occasion, the Group’s theme is simple: provide a great groove which is both fun to dance to and or listen. The band has an R& B base, which permeates just about everything they do.

Meet the Band
Tom Stanley
Tom Stanley was born on July 5th, 1952. In Detroit Michigan
He played his first professional job when he was only 13 years old. He comes from a musical family where everyone sang. His Uncle also played guitar. Tom’s other early influence was listening to gospel music at Church.
Musically he was influenced by such artists as Michael Bloomfield, Jimi Hendrix, BB King. He cites the band Moby Grape as also being a big influence on him. He enjoys playing rock progressive rock and now rhythm and blues.
John Provanzano
John was born June 3 1989. He was raised in the South Fla. Area and lived there until just recently. John started playing music at age 11. He graduated with a degree in music in 2015. John also teaches school at the junior high level in Wesley Chappel.
John credits his former sax teacher / mentor as a huge influence over his musical career. He noted his teacher played with such artists as Jaco Pastorius and Bob Marley.
His other musical influences include: Cannon Ball Adderally, Maceo Parker, and vocal artists, Stevie Wonder and James Brown.
Ralph Azzurro
Ralph was born Dec 27,1953 and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He comes from a musical family. His Grandfather was an accordion player. He also had 2 Uncles who played sax, one of which played with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.
Ralph loves rhythm and blues, and at one time was the leader of a group that opened for several famous acts such as he Dobbie Brothers, Allman Brothers and Pink Floyd just to name a few.
His first love is playing the B3 organ. He started by playing the accordion at age 11 and shortly thereafter began playing the keyboard. He has continued on with a long musical career and has now settled in with Gottagroove.
Dave Kilmer
Dave, is the Group’s leader and drummer. He was born in Tampa Fl, However, he moved to San Jose , Ca, in 1979 where he studied music with Chuck Brown.He remained there until his retirement and return to Fl. In 2015.
He also loves R&B and jazz. His influences include, Chuck Brown, Tower Of Power, Maceo Parker, James Brown, Ray Charles, Delbert McClinton, James Brown, just to name a few.
Kurtis Hohen
Kurtis is originally from Boston. However, He has made Fl. His home over the last 20 years. He is the Group’s main singer and bass player. He has a dynamic powerful voice, which will quickly get your attention.
He loves R&B and the Beetles. His influences include Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Delbert Mc Clinton, The Meters, Maceo Parker and Tower Of Power, just to name a few.
Mike Sams
Mike was born in Tampa Fl, and has lived here his entire life. Mike is the Group’s foremost song writer to date. The Group has recorded one of his songs, Lucky Man, which is on the Group’s website. The Group is currently working on a few more of his compositions.
Mike is the Group’s Rocker, and brings that element to the Group in both his playing and original compositions.
